No need to be an expert - Member Wizard's web template

is easy and fun to use

All you need is a basic skill level with

a keyboard and a flair for design!

What is the Member Wizard website template?

The Member Wizard template was created and is designed to make it as easy as possible for any sized organisation to have a good looking website which can be maintained by someone with no experience in HTML or any web site design software such as WordPress.

  • It can work either with a fully operational Member Wizard membership management database or without.
  • Security of access to edit or develop the site is maintained within Member Wizard.
  • Links for downloads and contact information is maintained within Member Wizard.
  • You don't need to have a paid subscription to Member Wizard in order to use the website template.
  • Member Wizard offer a free account to organisations who want to store and use up to 30 contact records so if you don't need more then all you pay for is the website.

Setup is a flat $AU450 which includes all site hosting and domain name registration, web hosting and UP TO 3 FREE ZOOM SESSIONS. We will work with you to help you set everything up. From then on it is only $AU150 per annum.

Where else can you get a website that look the way you want as easily and as inexpensively?

Download the guide to setting up your website template to the right and if you want to know more send us a message through the Contact Us page and we will be in touch.

How to Set up and Edit the website template

All you need is a good design idea - no web creation experience necessary

You can manage your website through your Member Wizard account provided you are and Administrator for your database or have been given Full Web Site access in the Role attached to your User login.

IMPORTANT: AS THIS IS A DEMONSTRATION SITE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE ANY FORMS OR EDITS YOU CREATE.

The Settings Menu

To log in go to Login button in the menu above and log in to the Website Admin using the user name and password in place. You will notice that once you are logged in the button will change from Login to Settings.

Once you have your own web link which we will provide you connected to your own site, you can save your work and when you are happy with it return to the Settings menu and select Copy Edit Version to Live however if you decide you don't like what you've done you can easily revert to the previous version by selecting Copy Live Version to Edit and it will remove your edits and return you to the original version. Please note you will not be able to do this on this demo only site.

At any time you can revert to previous versions of your website as each iteration is saved in the Archived Versions. Simply select the version you wish to revert to.

Once logged in firstly go to the Home Page of your template. You will see that each area of the web page has a line around it with an edit button in the top right corner. This border defines the element on the page which can be edited and the borders appear from outside to towards the inside of the page in the following order: Page; Section; Panel.

The three elements are described in more detail below:

The Page

The Page. This is the outer green line which surrounds the entire web page. In this option you can add additional pages, reorder, rename or delete the pages you have already. You can also add a Section.

Pages are defined by a Green boundary and edit pen.

Click the green edit pen and the menu to the right will appear.

The Section

The Section. A page can contain a number of horizontal sections. Sections are designed to hold a number of Panels. You can move a number of Panels up or down in position on the page. Sections are designed to run the full width of the page and to adjust to fit the depth of the Panels within them.

Sections are defined by a Purple boundary and edit pen.

Click the purple edit pen and the menu to the  right will appear.

The Panel

There are several types of Panels and each is designed to hold a different type of data. The following Panels are available - Text, Picture, Google Map, Download, Link, Event, Contact, Classes, New Member and Renewing Member. Panels are designed to have adjustable widths so if you wish to say place a Picture Panel adjacent to a Text Panel if you create each of these two Panels at 40% width they will neatly sit beside one another in the Section on the Page.

For images, the Width field in the Panel Edit Picture form will also dictate the height of the image.

Panels are defined by a Red boundary and edit pen.

Click the red edit pen and the menu to the right will appear.

The Types of Panels

There are a number of different panel types you can work with.

Text Panels

As the name suggests these are for text on your page. If you change the % width in the Text Edit field you can have other panels next to your text panel but remember the system does require a gap between the panels so two panels each of 50% will not fit side by side. Try making one of them 45%. You can sit multiple panels side by side across your page provided you remember this buffer around each of them. You enter text into the panel simply by typing it in to the area provided.

All text on this page is contained within Text Panels.

Q&A Panels

These are designed for FAQ sections where you your website users find answers to any questions they may have. They allow you to enter a question which will appear as a link but when clicked upon will open up a text panel containing the answer.

The Q&A Panel is demonstrated beneath the Carousel Panel near the top of this page.

Picture Panels

Images can be uploaded from your device into Picture Panels. Once you have selected your image it will appear with a number of different cropping options. If none of these fit the shape you want select Free crop. Drag the shaded area to cover the part of the image you want and click Crop. Your image. You can also add Animations to your image. These include Fade in and swipe in. If the image is at the top of the page select On Load. If the image is lower down the page select On Scroll. You can set a delay period in milliseconds and an animation speed. Click Save when the image is how you wish it to be. Be patient. Remember the image has to be uploaded to the server before it will be displayed. All images on this page are contained in Picture Panels.

Carousel Panels

This will allow you to have a scrolling or static row of images which run across your screen. You can adjust the speed of the scroll, the number of images displayed across the page and the gap between them. There are a number of other edits such as rounded corners, showing captions, showing arrows (click to move the scroll forward or backward) or dots (click to take you to a particular image).

To add images click the Add Slide button and select the image from your device you wish to display. There are a number of landscape and portrait pre-set shapes you can use or you can select Free Crop. You can move the shaded shape selector over your image till it captures the area you require then click Crop. Once the image has loaded there are a number of options which you can use including Add Caption, provide a LInk to take you to any page either within the website or outside it. If linking to an internal page only insert the name of the page preceeded by a diagonal dash eg /members. If you wish to go to an external page insert the full url. Tick the Open in other Tab option to have the page open in an different tab to the page you are currently working on.

The Carousel Panel is demonstrated under the two picture panels at the top of this page.

Google Maps Panels

You can insert a Google map into your panel. Simply type in the address you wish the map to centre around. You may need to be specific (street number, street, city).

PDF Panel

The PDF panel will place a readable PDF on your website. Click the Upload PDF to select the file from your device. You can view PDF panel above with the Website Template guide.

Download Panels

The system is designed so that any document downloads you wish to make available for download need to be stored in the Documents folder in your Member Wizard database. When you upload the document to make it available you need to check the box marked Public in order to make it able to be selected for download. Downloads will usually go into your Downloads folder on your device.

Link Panels

These are for providing a link from one page to another within your website. Due to the nature of the web template using a URL will not always work so we suggest you insert a link button or text to the page you need. You will find that often you have to Save your new link panel and click the Copy to Live button on the Admin page before the link will work.

Facebook Panel

The Facebook panel will put a link to your Facebook page on your website. Simply go to your Facebook page and copy the url into the Url field of the Panel.

Contact Us Panel

The Contact Us Panel will allow people with a question to contact you. It lifts the contact details from your Member Wizard Settings/Organisation Details page in the Admin Portal and places them above an emailable message section linked to the main email address for your organistation. If you wish to change where the email will be sent from this message you can do so in Settings/Organisation Details on the Email tab.

Class Panels

These are only available to organisations who run classes and who have set up the classes in their Member Wizard database. You do not need to select any file to display the Classes for your organisation, the system will automatically detect and load them.

Events Panels

Running an Event and wanting to collect registraitons online without paying event software fees? You can drop a link to the registration of an Event you have created in your Member Wizard database so that those wishing to take part can register directly from your web site. Those interested will be able to register and purchase tickets online (provided your Member Wizard database has been linked to Stripe)

New Member and Renewing Member Panels

The New Member panel will display the New Member Application Form as set up in Settings/New Member Application in your Member Wizard database. The Renewing Member panel will request the member's email address and if this is verified it will send the member a membership renewal invoice to their email address.

Member Portal Panel

The Member Portal Panel will place a Member Portal button linked to your Member Wizard site onto the page. It will automatically take your members to the main login page of the Member Portal. You need to have set up your Member Portal Settings before this button will function.

YouTube Panel

You can place a YouTube video directly onto your site by copying the YouTube link URL and placing it into the Link field of the YouTube Panel. To do this click the Share link beside the You Tube you wish to include then select the Embed option. Copy the link which appears right after the src=. (The link which appears between the two double apostrophe's) into the Link section of the YouTube Panel. You will need to click the Copy to Live button on the Admin page before the YouTube panel will work.
